Privacy Policy
Effective: November 7, 2026
Daily Log ("the app") does not collect personal information. The app has no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking, and it sends no data to the developer's servers.
What stays on your device
Your text, dictated text, photos, videos, places and timestamps are stored only on your iPhone. Deleting the app deletes them.
Permissions and what they are for
| Permission | Use |
|---|
| Microphone | Record speech for dictation and the sound of videos. |
| Speech Recognition | Turns speech into text on the device. Audio does not leave the device. |
| Camera | Capture photos and videos into your log. |
| Location (while using) | Save the place of an entry and show it on the map. The app works without it. |
| Photos (add only) | Only if you turn it on, also saves your captures to the Photos library. The app does not read existing photos. |
Information that goes to third parties
- Place names: The coordinates of a recorded location may be sent to Apple's mapping service to get a place name (for example, a neighborhood). Apple processes this; the developer does not receive it. Apple's privacy policy applies.
- Maps: The map screen uses Apple Maps.
Exports and backups
When you create an export (document, PDF, ZIP) or a backup, the file is saved where you choose (Files, iCloud Drive, a share target). What happens to it afterwards is your choice; the developer has no access.
Children
The app does not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version and date will be posted on this page.
